How it works

The filtering process...

Step 1:
The web page you request is passed through a URL processor to see if the pages' address is acceptable or not. If the requested page is found to be inappropriate, it will be blocked.

Step 2:    If the request makes it past Step 1, it is then passed through Anti virus and Spyware processors to analyze the page for malicious code. If malicious code is found, SafetyNet then prevents the page from executing that code.

Step 3:    If the request makes it past Step 2, it is then passed through a series of processors that check the content, of the page and all items on that page. Below are the various processors used to perform the Content Filtering:

Flesh Tone Image Processor - This processor analyzes all images on a page and looks for concentrations of flesh tones greater than 20% of the overall image. This, combined with facial recognition technology, allows for an extremely accurate analysis of images on a given web page.

Optical Character Recognition Processor - This processor analyzes the textual information in images. The text is extracted from the image and then analyzed for content and intent.

Visual Object Recognition Processor - This processor analyzes images for the presence of signs, symbols, trademarks, and digital watermarks. Once the item has been found, it is analyzed for content and intent.

Text Classification Processor - This processor utilizes both keyword search and intelligent text classification to analyze the textual information from a web page. These technologies work on the principle of "frequency of occurrence" and "combination of words."

Step 4:    If the page you requested makes it through Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3, then it will load in your computers' browser  without any problems. However, if the page fails at any time, it will return an informational screen that will tell you the reasons why it failed. SafetyNet will protect you from the harmful content on that page.
